CSM is providing electrical, mechanical, civil, architectural, and environmental health and safety inspection services for wastewater plants managed by the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment.
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection project managed by the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT), provides for construction management services for Job Order Contracts (JOC) and capital projects at 14 wastewater pollution plants, 95 pump stations and other satellite facilities.
The wastewater treatment plant projects are categorized by region:
Regional Group North: Bowery Bay, Hunts Point, Tallman Island, and Wards Island
Regional Group South: Newtown Creek, North River, Red Hook, Oakwood Beach, and Port Richmond
Regional Group East: 26th Ward, Coney Island, Jamaica, Owls Head, and Rockway
Some of the upgrade tasks CSM is involved in include: disconnection and installation of a new CCTV (closed circuit television) system, replacement of mechanical equipment i.e. pumps, motors, and piping, electrical conduit replacement for the existing gas holding tanks and pump room, and HVAC replacement.

CSM has served as a subconsultant to the Hazen and Sawyer, Malcolm Pirnie and Greeley and Hansen JV team for the past 20 years.
As a subconsultant to Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., CSM provided professional construction engineering inspection services related to the construction of the North River Water Pollution Control Plant located on the Hudson River.
As a subconsultant to GPI, CSM performed construction engineering inspection services on this $165 million project.
As a subconsultant to LKB, Inc., CSM provided resident engineering inspection services and a community liaison person for community participation on this project.
As a subconsultant to the URS (acquired by AECOM)/Arcadis team, CSM Engineering provided services at the plant for 16 years, beginning in 2003.
CSM’s staff provided inspection services for demolition of existing digesters as well as the excavation, sheeting and pile foundation for the new residual facilities.

As a subconsultant to Lane/Schiavone, CSM is providing quality management services for a Design-Build project that will lengthen 9 bridges over the Van Wyck Expressway.
CSM served on a panel assembled by Procifico Partners, to review a future Contract 9 for the Williamsburg Bridge. We provided our expertise in construction management during this value engineering study.
As a subconsultant to Nelson & Pope, CSM is providing construction inspection services on a Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) project focused on waterfront resiliency improvements.
As a subconsultant to Arcadis, CSM is providing construction management and inspection services for biological nutrient removal updates at the Rockaway and Coney Island Wastewater Treatment Plants.
As a subconsultant to the Hazen & Sawyer/Arcadis joint venture, CSM provided engineering and administrative support staff for this work flow, rehabilitation and repair project.
CSM is providing third-party review of the demolition procedures being proposed by the Contractor, Skanska, as part of the rehabilitation of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge under Contract 10.
As a subconsultant to Jacobs Engineering, CSM provided mechanical, plumbing and fire-protection inspection services for the rehabilitation of the Student Union building at Stony Brook University.
As a subconsultant to NV5, CSM is providing construction inspection services for priority surface treatments for NYSDOT assets in Region 10.
